Privacy Policy

JMA Management Center Inc. (hereinafter, "JMAM") recognizes the importance of personal information, and it ensures that such private information is protected in accordance with the privacy policy herein.

To serve you in an efficient manner, we may, from time to time, collect and use your personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

JMAM considers it critically important to protect your personal information appropriately, and to fulfill our responsibility in this regard, we uphold the following policy in handling such personal information:

  1. The scope of personal information we obtain shall be limited to what is required for our business activities, and only such relevant information shall be collected, used, or provided to relevant parties. We will not handle, in principle, any personal information that is beyond the scope of the objectives of using such information without the consent of the owner of the information. We will also apply measures to ensure our compliance.
  2. We shall be compliant with any ordinances, policies and any other laws and regulations established by the government to protect personal information.
  3. We safeguard personal information maintained at JMAM through reasonable security measures against unauthorized access as well as loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage. If any incident occurs despite our precautions, we shall promptly take a corrective action.
  4. We shall establish a point of contact for, and deal with, complains and inquiries on the handling of personal information.
  5. We shall periodically review our measures for the protection of personal information and shall work for improvements on an ongoing basis.

1. Purposes of Using Personal Information

JMAM may obtain personal information required for the operation of our business from time to time. The information will be used for the purposes described below:

When you apply or register for the JMAM courses or request JMAM's products or services, we use your personal information in relations to the course administration, confirmation of your enrollment details and the delivery of our products to you.

  • Distance Learning: to confirm the enrollment, deliver the study material and administer the program;
  • Seminars, conferences, workshops and briefing sessions: to confirm the application and deliver the Certificate of Participation;
  • Business planners and the JMAM publications: to confirm the orders and deliver the products;
  • Email newsletters: to confirm the membership and the subscription for, and the delivery of, the newsletters;
  • Brochures and trial CD-ROMs: to confirm the request and deliver the material; and
  • Questions and feedback from our customers: to contact our customers and respond to their inquiries and/or feedback.

We use your personal information to provide you with the new and updated information on the JMAM products and services.

  • Training courses, consulting services, assessment tools, distance Learning: to provide you with any updates on our new courses, periodicals and any other HRM-related information;
  • New Books: to deliver an announcement on our new books and publications; and
  • Business tools: to deliver information on our time and information management tools such as planners and calendars.

We use your personal information in an effort to improve the existing JMAM products and services and to make an announcement of our new offerings.

  • Surveys: to send out our surveys such as the customer satisfaction surveys on our products and services;
  • Existing products and services: to increase the quality of our existing products and services and to improve the level of our customers' satisfaction; and
  • New products and services: to develop and offer new products and services to our customers.

At your discretion, you may choose not to provide us with your personal information. However, please note that this may prevent us from providing some or all of our services such as the online services to you.

2. Prohibition of the Use of Personal Information for Any Other Purposes

We will not use the information obtained from you for any other purposes or disclose it to any third parties without your consent, unless one of the following conditions applies:

  1. If we have your consent for such use;
  2. If we disclose or offer the information in such a way, e.g. statistical data, that the anonymity of the individuals is guaranteed;
  3. If we are requested or authorized to disclose or provide the information for the regulatory compliance;
  4. If it is required for the protection of a person's life, well-being, or property, and if it is difficult to obtain a consent from you;
  5. If we are required to cooperate with the public offices such as the national or the local public agencies, court, police department, etc., for their execution of public work, and if receiving your consent would interfere with the accomplishment of such work; and
  6. If the information is provided to a subcontractor for the purpose set forth in "3. Consigning the Personal Information Processing."

3. Consigning the Work to Process Personal Information

In some cases, we consign the work to process the personal information data to an external subcontractor. We make sure to select a company with an uncompromising level of the personal information protection capability, as well as signing a memorandum of understanding for the personal information protection with them and maintain our control and supervision on them as necessary.

4. Management and Protection of Personal Information

Your personal information is safeguarded through our intelligent security measures against any unauthorized accesses, as well as against any loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of such information.

5. SSL, Cookies and CSS

SSL

The page to register personal information on our website employs the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology, which enables you to register your personal information in a secure environment. It encrypts the communications between your information terminal and the server of our website, which prevents any data sniffing during your registration procedure.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files of data transferred from our web server and stored on your computer. We limit the use of this technology to the purpose of providing uninterrupted services from us. You can be assured that we never collect your personal information by using these cookies.

CSS

The security on this website prevents the cross-site scripting (CSS, also abbreviated as XSS), which transfers any personal information to another website with a malicious intent.

With our security measures on our website, we provide you with a safe and secure environment, where no cookie information is stolen or no web pages tampered.

6. Inquiries regarding Your Personal Information

  1. Notification of the Purposes for Use

    If you want to be notified on the purposes for the use of your own personal information maintained at JMAM, we will provide you with our response within a reasonable period after we confirm the identity of the person who makes such a request.

  2. Disclosure

    If you want your own personal information maintained at JMAM to be disclosed to you, we will provide you with our response within a reasonable period after we confirm the identity of the person who makes such a request.

  3. Revision, Addition or Deletion

    If you want to revise, add or delete any or all of your own personal information maintained at JMAM, we will revise, add or delete the information if we find out that there is any part of the information that is different from the fact within a reasonable period after we confirm the identity of the person who makes such a request.

  4. Termination of Use or Erasing

    If you want to terminate the use of, or erase, your own personal information maintained at JMAM, we will terminate the use, or erase, your data within a reasonable period after we confirm the identity of the person who makes such a request.

Please be aware that if we terminate the use, or erase, some or all of this information, we may no longer be able to provide you with the services you desire. (Please also note that we may not be able to meet your request for terminating the use of or erasing your personal information if such information has been maintained by us to be compliant with the governing laws and regulations.)

7. For More Information on your Personal Information

Any inquiries on your personal data maintained by JMAM, and any requests set forth under Sections 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4 hereinbefore, will be accepted and processed by JMAM in accordance with the procedures described in the JMAM rules.

Please be aware that we may not necessarily be able to respond to your requests by following the procedures described above, or we may not be able to meet your request for the disclosure of your information due to the regulations set out in law.
