Summary

"It takes a long time for my child to go to sleep."
"My child won't fall asleep without being cuddled."
"My child starts playing when it is time to go to bed."
These are just some examples of bedtime issues. Many parents have tried various approaches to smoothly put their children to bed.
The Montessori method places importance on bringing out the natural capabilities of children by setting up an appropriate environment and providing proper adult involvement for the child's developmental stage. The same goes for bedtime routines.
At Montessori schools, nursery school teachers do not put children to sleep, but children get into bed on their own to take naps when they feel tired. This is said to be a sign that freedom to sleep independently has developed in children, not their giving in to sleep when they're neglected.
With an introduction to a bedtime routine, this picture book shows children how to go to bed and parents how to get involved in the routine.
